Inaugural Judicial Clerkship & Internship Training Academy, April 20

We are excited to introduce a new opportunity for Tech Law students. On Saturday, April 20, 2013, we will host the inaugural Judicial Clerkship and Internship Training Academy.

The Academy will be held in the Lanier Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will feature federal judges, a Texas Supreme Court justice, and Tech Law alumni who have served as judicial clerks. These individuals not only will cover important topics, but will share insights on what judges expect from clerks and interns. They also will be available to interact with you more informally. In addition, our own Professor DeLeith Gossett, who clerked for four federal judges, will offer a workshop on judicial opinion drafting, so that you will feel more equipped when you enter chambers on your first day.

I know this is a busy time of year, but this program will be worth every minute. If you are plan to attend the Academy, please RSVP to Professor Gossett, deleith.gossett@ttu.edu, by April 12, 2013. If you are enrolling in the summer externship program with Professor Myhra for placement in a judicial position, you will be required to attend to earn course credit. Please pass this information on to other Tech Law students who have secured or are seeking clerkships or internships.
