Student Counseling Center
The Student Counseling Center (SCC) is located on the second floor of the Student Wellness Center on the corner of Main and Flint. The SCC offers free counseling to all Tech students as follows: Individual counseling (10 sessions per academic year), couples’ counseling (10 sessions per academic year), group counseling (unlimited attendance), and our Mind Spa (massage chair and biofeedback) which is also free to students on an unlimited basis.

Why would I need the SCC?
Students come to the SCC for many different reasons such as relationship problems, academic problems, depression, and anxiety among many others. We can help students more effectively cope with whatever they are dealing with and ease the process of recovering from the psychological impact of adverse events.

How to get an appointment?
To get an appointment with a counselor you will need to come through the walk-in clinic: You can do this M-F 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Each student is seen for intake interview immediately after completing paperwork. Once the interview is completed you will receive a call from our case manager in a couple of days with information about your first appointment.

What if there is a crisis?
The SCC is open M-F 8 am to 5 pm. There will always be a counselor on call for crisis situations. Contact the SCC (742-3674) for consultation and/or send/accompany the student in question to the SCC and he/she will be seen immediately.
