POVERTY LAW SIMULATION - OCTOBER 24TH! - NEED MORE STUDENTS!
Poverty is a reality for many Americans. But unless you have experienced poverty, it is difficult to truly understand how impoverished individuals feel in their everyday lives. The Student Pro Bono Board of Directors welcomes Tech Law students to participate in this year’s Poverty Simulation that will be held in the Forum on October 24, 2018 at 5:30pm. Some of our student organizations have graciously donated money to sponsor this event, so we will begin with food for participants and a short introduction. The Simulation will begin no later than 6:00pm and should conclude no later than 8:30pm.

This great opportunity serves to bridge the gap between misconception and understanding of poverty. We hope to inspire a new generation of attorneys to make a tangible impact in the lives of many. Most of the Community Members in the Simulation will be professors and attorney volunteers. Students will receive 3 law-related pro bono hours for participating!  Attorneys will receive 1 hour Ethics CLE which has been approved by the State Bar of Texas.   Volunteer slots are limited to the first 75 students. Please email elma.moreno@ttu.edu if you are interested in participating and would like to be added to the list.

Associate Judge Meryl Benham and attorney Stacy Riker will moderate the session. We hope you will join us for this event!
