Every year the Lubbock Family Court celebrates National Adoption Day by performing a marathon of adoption proceedings. This year National Adoption Day is Friday, November 17, 2017, and in celebration the Family Law Society is sponsoring its annual Teddy Bear Drive!
Each child adopted on National Adoption Day gets to choose a bear to "adopt," and the judge takes the child through the whole proceeding. This is an adorable way to help these children understand the huge change happening in their lives.
There is a box outside the law library to collect donations of new or gently used teddy bears of any size. The bears will be collected on November 1, 2017. We are hoping to send every family home with a bear this year, so please give from the heart!
