July Bar Exam Mentor Program

Dear “July 2017 Bar-Exam Taker” –

Even though you haven’t yet taken your last law-school final exam, I’m sure you can’t wait to start thinking about taking the bar exam in July (no rest for the weary!). The law school offers a “bar-exam mentor program”, and many students have taken advantage of the program and have been very pleased with the additional help their mentors provided. Based on our review of bar-exam results since this program has been in place, it does appear that those who have taken advantage of the program have performed slightly better on the exam. If you are interested, we will try to match you with a Tech Law alum, who has volunteered to serve as a mentor, so that you might have someone who has been through the drill and wants to provide you with encouragement and advice – and maybe help hold you accountable, while you study for this very important exam.

Let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll see if I can find a good match for you. If so, send me the following information:

  1. Are you taking a state bar exam other than Texas?
  2. In what city will you be studying for the bar exam?
  3. Do you have a job lined up? If so, where and doing what?
  4. Will you be doing anything else, while you are studying for the bar exam (working, getting married, moving, etc.)?
  5. Will you be taking a bar-review course? If so, which one?
  6. Any special considerations re: a mentor?

Good luck!
