TTU Law is excited to host a poverty simulation in conjunction with Texas Access to Justice Commission, co-sponsored by TTU Law Criminal Law Association and Black Law Students Association on Friday, February 19 from 1:00-4:00 pm in the Lanier Atrium.
How do I sign up? Visit https://mytechlaw.law.ttu.edu/probono/. First come, first served! Registration closes on Friday, February 12 at 5:00 pm or whenever slots fill up!
What’s in it for you? All student participants will receive 3 hours of pro bono credit, and graduating 3Ls will also get 3 hours of ethics CLE for use after graduation. It will be a great networking event with faculty, staff, attorneys, and local non-profit leaders.
What’s the point? Help sensitize participants to the realities of life for low-income people.
What will you be doing? Participants will be assigned a family “role” and corresponding instructions. You will try to survive a full “month” facing challenges that a low-income person and/or family might face.
