Both TTU and non-TTU students have already begun the registration process for our Summer Law Program in Lithuania. If you missed our informational meeting about the Program last November, the International Programs office will be holding another meetingon February 12 at noon in Room 105. Last summer’s program included 16 TTU law students and 28 Lithuanian law students. TTU students who attended last summer’s program will be invited to speak about their experiences during this presentation.
Lithuania is a European Union country and member of NATO that is located across the Baltic Sea from Sweden and Denmark. It makes for a fascinating education destination because of its deep cultural and historical roots and its post-World War II history. This history provides students with an incredible opportunity to study how political and legal transitions take place and provides for valuable comparative law studies taught by English-speaking Lithuanian scholars who have experienced these transitions first-hand. The country boasts pleasant summer weather and a low cost of living that make it an excellent location in which to study, and a wonderful base from which to explore Europe.
Participants in the program can take between 3 and 5 credit hours of courses. All courses will be taught in English. In addition, we anticipate having at least five one-week externship placements at various international law firms available for an additional hour of credit. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit unique and intriguing sites both in Lithuania and Europe.

Study Abroad Competitive Scholarships (SACS) are also available for assistance with financing, but the application deadline for these scholarships is February 15.
