Applications are now available electronically through the attachment to the e-mail sent to 1L and 2L students and are available in hard copy in the Administration Office.
You need to return your application with a resume attached to the back to the Administration Office by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd.
Texas Tech School of Law is currently in its eighth year of a partnership with Estacado High School's Law and Justice Magnet Program (LJMP) to provide academic opportunities that will develop better citizens for our communities, encourage students to attend college and graduate education after their secondary education, and increase student interest in pursuing careers in law. The partnership also promotes future diversity in the legal profession because EHS has a predominately minority population. The LJMP students are 9th through 12th graders who aspire to work in the legal profession or law enforcement.
Why be a Dean's Community Teaching Fellow?
- You get to be involved with the Law and Justice Magnet Program and regularly assist Mr. Trevino (the LJMP faculty member) in classroom duties (teaching, team teaching, and small group work)
- Act as coaches for the LJMP's mock trial and skills competition teams
- Present as guest speakers for the classes in LJMP
- Work in small group or one-on-one with LJMP students in a mentoring capacity as logistics permit
- Act as hosts for LJMP students who attend law school events
- Assist EHS in LJMP recruitment events at the high school and middle schools
- Participate in other law-related EHS and community events.
Please note that DCTF positions are for two semesters (Fall 2013 and Spring 2014) and are unpaid.
You do have the option of enrolling in Independent Research credits (up to 3 credits over the academic year) under Dr. Jarmon's supervision of your papers/projects as part of your DCTF experience.
