Study in Guanajuato this Summer

As trade relations with Mexico and the rest of Latin America continue to expand, Texas Tech wants to ensure that its students have an opportunity to prepare for international legal opportunities that will continue to multiply. The Summer Law Institute helps Tech achieve that objective by giving students the option to work, learn and study in Guanajuato, Mexico, under the direction of professors from Texas Tech as well as professors, practitioners, and jurists from around the United States and Mexico.

Students will earn six semester hours of credit during four weeks, approximately over the month of June. Participating students will then have the option of a 2-week externship, allowing students to work with Mexican, lawyers, judges, and governmental officials while earning an additional two hours of credit. Spanish language proficiency is not required for the six hours of coursework but is required to participate in the optional externship.

Professor Jorge Ramirez held informational meetings on how Tech Law students can earn law school credit while studying abroad this summer in Guanajuato, Mexico. View the recording of these meetings at mediaservices.law.ttu.edu.  Open the folder "Classes" and then the folder "International Programs."

For details about the program and how to apply, you should print out and read this handout: http://mytechlaw.law.ttu.edu/Faculty/SummerLawInstitute/Applicants/Guanbroch13Consort.pdf

You start the application process by filling out and submitting these two documents to Melinda Moore or Jeff Price, who are both on the law school's second floor:
